Our First House Plan Tour!

We are always introducing new plans to our site, but it is especially exciting to see one of these floor plans be built and come to life!

This week, we uploaded completed photos of our Penwood shingle style house plan, and its a stunner! We want to share with you the details of this new home, and hope it inspires you too!

Penwood House Plan Details

2360 Sq Ft | 4 Bedrooms | 2.5 Bathrooms | 2 Stall Garage

Exterior

The transitional shingle style cottage exterior is timeless, classic, yet updated. Two gable dormers create visual interest and introduce the functional space inside. The standing seam metal shed roof above the garage door adds style to an important location. A welcoming covered porch draws you toward the beautiful cottage style 4 lite front door.

Entryway

Opening the front door, you are greeted by an entryway that flows directly into the main living space. To the left, an open staircase with simple metal railing pulls you toward the second floor.

Open Concept Living

Once inside, you are struck by the large open concept space containing a large modern kitchen, dining area, and inviting living room space. Surrounding the entire space are large glass sliders pulling you through the home onto the covered back porch.

Kitchen

A large center island with waterfall quartz countertop grounds the kitchen, and creates the perfect space to gather and enjoy the "heart of this home." A farmhouse style apron sink looks out on the front of the house, allowing you to watch the comings and goings surrounding you. Commercial grade appliances and panel faced refrigerator round out the simple and thought through design of this L-shaped gourmet kitchen.

Dining Area

This casual dining area is perfect for both formal and informal gatherings. Two exposed wood beams ground this large space, and draw a connection between the living and dining areas.

Living Room

Ample space for intimate and large groups, the living space centers around a concrete and white oak fireplace where conversation and media connect seamlessly.

Main Floor Master Suite

Taking up the entire left side of the home, this master bedroom is private, yet conveniently located. Exposed wood beams highlight the vaulted ceiling helping create a lofty and airy feel.

The master bathroom is modern and clean. A floating flat paneled wood double vanity offers ample storage. The private water closet and glass shower make this bathroom a functional and beautiful design.

Garage & Mudroom

Located on the opposite side of the home, you will find parking for your vehicles in the two-stall garage. The mudroom is practical and beautiful, Stunning grey tile with high contrast grout is laid in a zig-zag pattern for interest. Direct access to a half bath, laundry, and the backyard keeps daily messes contained and smart materials make this space low maintenance.

Upstairs Loft

The vaulted open loft at the top of the staircase is the perfect family or media room. With plenty of space for a sectional sofa, the loft can accommodate multiple people for a movie or game night.

Guest Bedrooms

Two identical mirror image guest rooms with vaulted ceilings, bedside sconces, and large windows are practical and sized appropriately.

Upstairs Bathroom

Across the hall from the bedrooms, a shared bathroom is strategically located to provide privacy and convenience.

Game Room & Bunk Room

Above the garage, a large vaulted game room is flooded with natural light. An exposed beam centers the space, and you are given enough space to host a competitive ping pong tournament. Extra sleeping accommodations are found directly off this space in a private vaulted bunk room.

Back Porch

Outback, you will discover a large outdoor living area. Under the covered porch, you have space to cook on the grill, entertain at the 4-person outdoor dining table, and converse on the two outdoor sofas. Stepping out into the sun, you find yourself on a natural stone patio where additional seating is found surrounding a gas fire pit. Looking back on the house, you see a large shed dormer and metal roof giving the home a substantial presence.
